Thanks to all who contributed to, and participated in, “Celebrating Mr. Nak!” The March 29 show, paying tribute to the late James Akira Nakamoto on the McKinley High School stage that’s dedicated to him, brought together many loving friends who shared their memories in word and song.

It also brought together a troupe of current McKinley students, and their performance reminded us of the great value of the performing arts in education.

This site will remain active as a continuing memorial to our beloved drama teacher and director, and as a focal point of a continuing effort to support theater at McKinley. Watch this space for more detail on these plans. Aloha and mahalo nui loa.
